CT. Youth Athletes Takes Boston By Storm!! The New Haven Age Group Track Club took Boston by storm on February 13 at the Northeast Indoor Classic track and field meet at the Reggie Lewis Center.

More than 20 athletes and families from the club travelled to Boston for this prestigious meet, which included more than 500 athletes. The day was a long one for sure, but the effort by our club members made it all worthwhile.

Among the highlights, Niya White was selected as the Outstanding Runner in the girl’s 7- 8 year old category. Niya came in first place in the 400 meters (1:23.67), 800 meters (3: 10.05), and record breaking 1500 meters (6:15.63)! Trevon Cohen set a meet record in the Boys 11-12 year old 800 meter run (2:28.88), and also earned first place in the 1500 meters (5:10.61). Luis Alston won the Youth Shot Put with a throw of 16”10.75”, while also running in the 200 meters and 400 meters. Another meet record was also set by Danae Rivers in the Girls 13-14 year old 800 meters with a time of 2:21.05.

Athletes establishing personal and season best times were; Lauryn Andrews (55M Hurdles, 11.09), Rodney Arnold (1500M, 5:07.91), Caroline Booth (800M, 2:56.85; 1500M 6:16.95), Michael Christie (55M Hurdles , 10.83; 800M, 2:47.98), Eli Hanlon (200M, 35.53), Etta Hanlon (200M, 32.52), Erik Lorent (200M, 31.18), Leah Rivers (800M, 2:37.33; 1500M, 5:20.36), Anneliese Troidle (800M, 3:00.23), and Harry Troidle (800M, 3:20.47; 1500M, 6:29.04).
