Connecticut AAU holds 7th Annual Awards
Banquet

The Connecticut AAU held its 7th Annual Awards
Banquet on Tuesday, June 14th 2011 at 6pm.
Based on the success of last year's event, the
event was again held at Amarante's Sea Cliff
located on Cove Street in New Haven.

The evening was considered by all to be a rousing
success.  In addition to the presentation of the
many Sport Awards, Governor's Awards,
Volunteer Awards and a scrumptuous dinner, the
guests were both impressed and entertained by
this year's Guest Speaker, Mr. Rich Coppola.
Besides preparing and delivering nightly
sportscasts for the "Fox 61 News at Ten," Mr.
Coppola also co-anchors "Fox 61 Sports Ticket,"
Connecticut's only prime-time weekend sports
wrap-up program which airs locally Saturdays and
Sundays at 10:45 pm.  The banquet was featured
on Tuesday's nightly newscast, and also on "Fox
61 Sports Ticket" which aired the following
Saturday night.

The banquet was started several years ago by the
Executive Board of the Connecticut AAU as a
way or both recognizing athletes and also as a
thank you for the many volunteers, without whom,
the Connecticut AAU could not function.  Ticket
information and a list of award winners will again
be made available on this website in approximately
April of next year.

winners.
It's not too soon....
